001. RESPECT. General respect should go without saying. My characterization, my time, and energy are important to establish right off the bat. If we cannot respect any of those things mutually then unfortunately this probably won't work as writing partners! I am more than happy to meet folk, but I have had too many instances where all my boundaries were crossed and left me uncomfortable. 002. CHARACTERIZATION Armand is and always will be monstrous. Does that mean he's incapable of softness and feelings? Absolutely not. However, those parts of him are hard to access and require time and building towards. When first encountering this man, he will be charming and pleasant - as any good predator would be when luring in a potential prey. It's up to the dynamics that establish whether it be simple and fleeting, or something more. Armand does not always hunt to kill. More often than not, he feeds simply to sustain himself. Killing is reserved for special cases and persons who push too far. 003. VAMPIRE GUY TM. So - he's a vampire. Voidsent. Whatever you may classify him as. And with that comes the fact that he has much of the abilities one would associate with the more classic, gothic horror Vampirism. Charm, Mesmerism, Strength, Speed, Shadow Manipulation, Shapeshifting etc. Think Bram Stoker's Dracula when it comes to him. While he isn't unkillable and godlike, I do ask that his abilities/strength aren't downplayed. It's a huge part of his character and I promise any and all scenarios where he could overpower someone will be discussed in advance! So we're on the same page etc.
004. SHIPPING. Big fan of shipping. Love it, in fact. However I do like some semblance of slow burn and build up towards things (especially relationships with deeper bonds etc.) I will not tolerate, however, possessiveness or entitlement to Armand as a character. I enjoy mult-shipping - and rarely tie my characters to one single character unless I've become genuine friends with the writer. All ships will be in their own pocket universes (unless discussed otherwise). 005. WRITING STYLE I'm a big fan of paragraph writing. I often get lost in the written sauce and may get flowery when it comes to characterization. I am, however, slow. I can't churn out replies as instantly as I used to (though gosh I wish I still could). So please be patient with me. 006. NSFW I do write NSFW content [ be it smut or darker themes ]. I enjoy it too! However, do not assume I'm just interested in that off the bat or at all. Again, I'm a big fan of proper planning and plotting with a writing partner and I feel it's more fun when we establish a baseline. I will also not assume or plan to write NSFW material with anyone - and have the right to say 'thanks but no thanks'.Armand enjoys his sexuality - flourishes in it especially after feeding. He's what one would classify as a switch in all capacities. More often than not, he will cater to his partner's wants - he's an old soul, after all and no stranger to intimacy. He can be rough, bite-y, and border on not-so safe and sane [ but always consensual thanks ].

INTO THE MOUTH OF MADNESS. Armand Renouard's story ends, as many often do, in death and tragedy. A creature born of darkness when the ashes of his former life had settled. Pitiless, soulless, and a being that defied nature in its entirety. Voidsent. Vampyr. Murderer.But he was not always this twisted reflection of his former self. There was a time one would have considered him a man of reason, grace, and morality. Such as it was for many who lived under the banner of Ishgard. Armand was born to a family of high renown - loyal to the church and to the people, said to be descendants from great warriors who fought the encroaching dragon hordes. They were the picture of poise, elegance, and dignity among the nobles. Earl Armandeaux Renouard was a fierce political figurehead and stark figure among the noble houses - betrothed to the hauntingly beautiful Countess Lucienne Marivieux. The marriage of the two houses was both a powerful move and one of true benefit to maintain the Houses' and their status among the blue bloods of Ishgard.It was not long after the planned marriage that the pair welcomed their first son into this world: Armand Renouard, so named after his father. In succession, the births of his brothers Alexandre and Léonard Renouard were quick to follow. Their family was picturesque and by all standards, the ideal for any Ishgardian to strive for.But as all picturesque things tend to be - The Renouard Family was anything but perfect.
Behind closed doors, the Renouard Patriarch was a violent and cruel man. Particularly to the eldest and heir to the family and fortune, Armand. He was beaten for every slight failure and foot out of the mold the patriarch was set. There were evenings when he was particularly deep in spirits that he would punish Armand with food deprivation. The man even went so far as to lock the young elezen in the wine cellar to freeze on the most bitterly cold of nights. And when the mood struck Armandeaux Renouard? He would become physically violent. Many of the scars of his ministrations remain even to this day - a tapestry of cruelty and the first step for Armand's descent to madness.But he endured it with the grace a Renouard should - and often consoled himself that it saved his brothers from the same fate. They never thanked him and often ignored him in return - jealous of his 'status' amongst their family.Eventually it was announced that Armand would wed the daughter of Baron Durand - an advantageous marriage for both families. For one? The status of the Renouard household. For the other? Access to the archives and treasury of the Virtue's Wealth. Indeed it was celebrated by any and all of high character -- but for Armand? It was another form of cruelty and a death knell tolling in the distance. Jeanne de Durand held no love for Armand and maintained as much polite distance as she could, even long after the pair had wed. Bearing her duty as a daughter of a noble house, she did what she had to.
It was then she gave birth to two children - twins Vivienne and Alistair Renouard. And for the first time in his miserable existence? He felt love. He loved his children to the ends of time itself - doting on them as any good father should. Being the man for them his own father never could. It was through them that Armand believed his life could hold meaning. That he could be something more than pawn in a great political game.For a time? He was happy. Enshrouded in a blissful state of being nothing could dampen. He was a pious man - a devoted father and amicable husband. Turning his eye from his wife's unsubtle dalliances when she thought he couldn't see.But fate, it seemed, was a cruel mistress indeed. For soon his children fell ill and despite his pleading to his makers and best healers - he lost them both to a brain fever that broke bones and minds. To say he was inconsolable would be an understatement.The final step before a great and terrible precipice.In the weeks of his mourning, Armand became isolated and devoted to scriptures. To texts. Desperately trying to find an answer to any of this -- the festering would in his heart germinating into something awful. A sickness to cloud his mind when he one day stumbled upon a text of black magics. Ressurection. Sacrifice. A means to find a new purpose - a chance to bring back happiness. He need only to renounce everything, and everyone he ever knew. In the worst way imaginable.
The Renouard Family is said to have died in a terrible accident centuries ago - a fire that took them all. Many blamed it on the Dragons and their apostate followers - but the truth of the demise of their house is far more terrible. The night Armand's mind and soul were lost to the void, he went on a murderous rampage. Slaughtering his parents, his brothers, and his own wife in the throws of his righteous madness. Cannibalized them and drank of their blood. That was what the ritual said must be done to find purpose in the dark that plagued their world and kind.
Armand remained in hiding for nearly one hundred years - feasting on nothing but the poor souls who would dare try to rob and desecrate the abandoned halls of his Chateau. It was only when the grief of the loss of his children dissipated that he finally emerged into this new world and from the dark.
Reclaiming the family fortune was no small feat - one done with secrecy and underhanded bewitchment. Nowadays, Armand is touted as a long lost heir to the Renouard name. It took nearly a decade for him to find his foothold in the world of Ishgard Nobility - a beatific and eccentric man who often keeps to himself until the next soiree. And every near turn of the century, the man fakes his own death and re-emerges as an heir apparent to continue the Renouard name and this wicked, dangerous game.
Armand is, by all accounts, a Voidsent. The texts he found were an amalgamation of black magics and summoning rituals that bound both body and soul to the other plane. His ties to this world are from the blood spilled and shed in his own name - a ritual he must continue in order to remain outside of the inky black void. The life of the many fuels his freedom.
Armand is a very social creature - he thrives in conversation and society. The empty gnawing abyss in him left from the ritual keeps him hungry for contact of all kinds. He is quick to strike up a conversation and will listen for hours until he must return to the dark of his family crypt. While sunlight will not outright kill him - it will leave him vulnerable and weakened, more akin to his mortal self than anything. Prolonged exposure without rest will lessen his hold in this world and, if he isn't careful, send him back to the void.
While he cannot eat as a mortal can, he indulges in food and the sensory play of it. If he's truly to keep his food in place and be sustained from it, it must unfortunately be made from living beings. This is where the 'Hannibal Lecter' inspiration kicks in. While he doesn't necessarily partake in true dining -- it's not far from the realm of something he could do.

ARE YOU A MAN? OR A MONSTER? Freed from the void in which he metamorphized into this strange, blood starved beast - Armand now wanders the world free and with all the powers the strange ritual has brought him. He is a predator - a wolf in sheep's clothing. And while many years have passed since the first taste of blood, every now and then his iron control slips. The worst of him brought forth. Will you be his next prey? Or, perhaps, you'll catch enough of his attention to wander free. To entertain conversations. And perhaps even indulge in other wicked sins.This is his main verse. He is a true blue vampire and comes with all the problematic, nasty boy issues that come with it. Unless specified otherwise, this is the verse I write in.

There is little he won't do to remain the heir apparent for his household and all that it implies. He plays the game of social cat and mouse like it is second nature. But every now and then, a slight crack will appear - one that is rectified without hesitation. Think of the scandal.In this verse - he is still mortal and still has some shred of humanity and 'goodness' in him. He is, however, bound to uphold appearances and decorum. To do what it is expected and show no weakness. He will be a problem [immaculately dressed though].

Slowly coming into his powers and new world, Armand struggles with the guilt and grief of a lost life... While also salivating for the next taste of carnage. Unpredictable. Childish. Violent. He haunts his home and stalks the shadows looking for any excuse for his next, craven action.He is a newly fledged monster in this verse. A voidsent monster who is struggling to cope with his new reality. This verse requires plotting and has more cw topics than his main verse.
